Sound Scouts has developed a clinically validated, hearing check to detect hearing loss, currently in children. Sound Scouts is on the leading edge of the gamification of health tech. The game is the result of 5 years of R&D with the Australian Government’s hearing research lab – the National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL), at the time led by Professor Harvey Dillon.

The potential of Sound Scouts was recognized early by the NSW Government who is supporting its development through its Medical Devices Fund. The game has been through rigorous clinical trials over an extended period and received clinical approval from NAL for use in screening for hearing problems.

Throughout its development, Sound Scouts has been trialled with in excess of 1,000 children, aged from four and a half years, through to teenagers across a range of preschools, schools and hearing organisations.
